Tiff, as she’s affectionately known as, has been practicing yoga since the age of 15, with a vinyasa practice. This led to an on and off practice of almost 12 years, trying to find the right “fit”: a practice that she loved and would be her foundation. Cut to late 2009, when she found a tiny add in the Scope advertising Modo-Inspired Yoga. From her first class, she was hooked: the heat, the postures, the sequence, and how each class always felt completely different.
She took the plunge and went to Montreal in 2011 to complete Level 1 Modo Yoga Teacher Training, which turned into an incredibly month of self-discovery and lifelong friendships. Tiff has been teaching at the studio since our opening week, and hasn’t stopped since. In April 2014, Tiff jet-setted to New York City for Modo Flow Teacher Training; a week of new and old friendships, laughter, and even going upside down. She is inspired by all of her teachers, especially Ted Grand, Jess and Deena Robertson, Dina T., and Ange Zawada.
Tiff brings her sense of humour to all of her classes, plus a lightness, knowing that it’s important not to take life too seriously. She’s also known to reference pop culture in her classes, and creating themed playlists with classes set to music. She’s also a photographer, updating the studio Instagram page, and was also a feature studio artist in 2013. When she’s not at the studio, which is rare, she’s spending time with her dog Harlee, running, snowboarding, and planning her next adventure.
